Home Cure for Sebacious Cyst

Sebaceous cysts are seen to occur just below the skin. They produce sebum in the epidermis. It is a closed sac and is analogous to the infundibulum of the hair follicle.

Sebum is a white material, which is semi solid in nature. These cysts are commonly seen in the back, face, scalp, upper arms and ears. They are generally absent on the soles and hands. In men, they are also seen on the chest and scrotum. These cysts occur in areas, where hair is present. This in course of time, results in hair loss in the respective area.

Proper surgery helps in cyst removal. Infection and improper techniques result in tissue scarring. Placing a heating pad on the cyst for ten days is a helpful remedy. Keep it for 15 minutes, twice a day. Popping of the cyst is avoided, as it results in spread of infection. Cysts in the genital area or scrotum require medical attention. Oral antibiotics are suggested, prior to surgical excision. For draining pus, a bandage is used to cover the same, thereby preventing infection. Warm washcloths are also effective, when placed on the boil. Wash the area and the adjoining places with an antibacterial soap.
