Home Cure for Food Poisoning
Eating food or drinking water that has been contaminated with infectious bacteria can result in food poisoning. The symptoms such as vomiting, diarrheas, or abdominal cramping would start within a day or two after dining. Sweating, fever or itching might also accompany after 2 days.
Try the following home remedies to control the symptoms of food poisoning: - As food poisoning is accompanied with severe diarrhea and vomiting there is loads of water loss from the body, to keep the body well hydrated drinking lots of water and fluids is important. Start with small sips of water at frequent intervals, once you can hold that start fluids with sugar like juices. Having sports drink would be best as it would also help to restore the electrolytes that are lost.
You can also choose a soft drink or soda when you feel weak basically because it will give you instant energy. - Relax and rest, don't panic let your immune system take charge and then all pieces would fall in place. Support the immune system with lots of fluids and a soft tolerable diet.
- As you feel better and start tolerating liquid food, gradually shift to soft, palatable and bland food. Make sure to avoid spices, stale food, raw food, candies, pastries, smoking and alcohol.
