Home Remedies for Piles
In piles the veins in the anal cushion (portion which connects rectum and anus) swells leading to pain and sometimes bleed. Depending on the stage (first degree, second degree, third degree or forth degree) the symptoms of piles would vary but common ones include blood on the toilet paper when you wipe the anus, discomfort and pain after a bowel moment is opened, a feeling that your bowels have not emptied completely, a slimy mucus discharge that may cause itching, soiling your underwear (commonly in third or forth degree piles).
Try the following home remedies to ease the symptoms of piles: - Drink lots of water at frequent intervals and load your diet with fiber.
Avoid refined foods, oily/fried foods, spicy, junk foods, canned foods, non-vegetarian foods, tea, coffee/caffeinated beverages, smoking, alcohol, sugar and sweets and sedentary lifestyle.
- Increase intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole cereals grains and its products, buttermilk, ginger garlic, bitter gourd, beetroot, leafy vegetables, sprouts and pulses in your diet.
- Grind dry mango seeds to make a powder in a coffee grinder and take this daily with honey to get relief from the pain.
- Grind white radish with milk and apply on the bulge area, this will help to reduce pain and swelling caused due to piles.
