Home Remedies for Water Retention
Water retention or edema occurs to every individual in a day as our body is constantly adjusting the fluid levels depending on what we eat and drink. But some times our body can not handle or perform its job properly due to wrong eating or some other condition. Try the following simple home remedies to avoid water retention: - Get in water, exercise for some time in a pool as this will help fore fluid out of the tissue in to the bladder.
- Diuretics although are very effective against removing water avoid them (especially if you have heart disease, kidney or liver disease).
- Decrease the intake of salt. Too much salt from salted popcorn, salted nuts, junk foods, pickles and sausages can cause the fluid to retain in the body.
- Exercise will help to flush excess salt in sweat and increased respiration and thus relieve the body of excess fluid. Simple stroll at house or garden, climbing stares, stretching the limbs while sitting would also be of great help.
- Drink more water to remove the toxins and extra salt from the body.
- Parsley is a natural diuretic, boil few leaves in a cup of water and drink this water several times a day.
- While sleeping for better circulation of fluids put a thick pillow beneath your feet to recline them in a raised position.
