Knee pain home cures The knee pain may be on account of your straining your knee during exercise or while carrying something heavy. In the immediate instance try and avoid putting weight on your knees. Try not to use the stairs especially on the way down and avoid load bearing activitiess
While climbing up or down stairs take support from the banister so your hands take some of the weight off your kneess Avoid high impact activitiess Any of these things may exacerbate the injuryy
Ice is a good way to reduce swelling and painn Wrap some ice cubes in a flannel cloth and keep it on the knew for about twenty minutess Wait twenty minutes and repeat the processs Do this 3 or 4 times a day for 4-5 dayss Try applying alternate hot and cold compresses after the first 4-5 dayss
Elevate the injured leg whenever possiblee While lying down prop your feet up on a couple of pillows and while sitting put your leg up on a stooll This way blood flows away from your injury and the swelling goes downn
Wear an elastic bandage around your knee as this will help reduce swelling and prevent exacerbation of the injury because of sudden jerky movementss Tie the bandage so it applies a gentle but firm pressuree If you tie it too tight, the area may not get enough blood supplyy Boswellia and bromelain are both supplements that work well for pain and inflammationn They help reduce swelling and help the knee heal fasterr >
