Flatulence causes and natural remedies 

Bloating is caused in the tummy when air gets trapped in pockets of the intestinal tract. Bloating causes a characteristic pain that is aggravated by pressing on that area. Gas or flatulence is caused by eating certain kinds of food, wearing overly tight clothes or swallowing too much air.




Some simple remedies for dealing with flatulence are listed below:

  • Massage the abdominal area gently to loosen pockets of gas
  • Walk around for about 15-20 minutes briskly. This will help  release gas
  • Wear a wet towel around your stomach and lie to one side.
  • Loosen your clothes and get into something that does not constrict you around the waist.


    Take off undergarments if they are tight
  • Lie on your back and make cycling movements in the air
  • Roast some asafoetida in a pan and take it with a teaspoon of yoghurt

In future to prevent flatulence you can try the following remedies:

  • Avoid foods of the cabbage family.
  • try not to lie down immediately after a meal
  • Wear loose fitting clothes that don't hold you in at the waist
  • Avoid sodas and drink straight from a bottle or glass instead of from a straw
