Natural Cure for Eczema in Kids

Eczema or dermatitis is a skin condition, accompanied by dry and flaky skin. Itching, reddening, swelling, scaling and cracking of the skin are the other symptoms. It is seen to occur in the chest, scalp, joints and forehead.


Bleeding and oozing of fluids from the skin is also common. But, it is not infectious. The irritation and itching might result in disruption of sleep.


Eczema is hereditary and is seen to develop between 2 and 3 years of age. Exposure to irritants results in immediate hypersensitivity. Flare ups are seen on exposure to certain substances in the environment.

Moisturizing the area of the body is helpful. Dry skin is typical in eczema and topical application of baby cream or oil is an effective method. Cotton clothing helps in circulation of air and fails to harm the skin. A mild and warm bath is useful, though not allowed with the soap for a long time with soap. Avoid harsh chemicals on the clothes of the baby. Cleanliness in the environment proves beneficial. Keep their nails short, as the risk of scratching is higher. Avoid introducing new foods. Pet dander is troublesome and results in flare ups in certain individuals.
