Barley brew laxative tea is also an excellent remedy for improper bowels. Quarter cup of barley, organic figs and raisins are added to a bowl with 10 cups of boiling water. Triphala is available commercially and adds bulk to the stools. Side effects, such as cramps and irritation are not seen. The intestinal walls are stimulated and restored. Psyllium husk is a cooling substance, derived from a plant. Drink more water with adequate fresh fruits and vegetables in the diet. Increase the fiber in your diet.
