Home Treatment for Sneezing
Sneezing is often an allergic reaction to some irritant particles such as dust, dust mites, and dander from pets. When these particles reach the nasal mucosa, the body starts producing histamines, which then cause a sneeze, or several sneezes. In some people, this reaction is quite severe, and they have sneezing fits that last for several minutes, or even hours.
This can be quite exhausting and debilitating, not to mention infuriating. Unfortunately there is no real home remedy for these sneezing fits. There is no real medical treatment either, except for over the counter antihistamines, which you can try if your sneezing fits are particularly severe and bothersome.
Else, you will simply need to take some general precautions. Since the sneezing is usually triggered by something, you should try to find out what this something is, and avoid it. To a large extent, things like dust, mold, and plant debris can be avoided.
You should never stop or stifle a sneeze once it has begun, but you can try not to reach the point where the sneeze even begins. One method that works for some people is to hold your breath for a few seconds. You can also pinch your nose closed until the urge to sneeze passes. You might even be able to do this at regular intervals for the entire duration of the sneezing fit, getting away with only the ticklish sensation but no sneezing.
