Natural Treatment for Acid Reflux

Severe acidity, which is the crux of the problem with acid reflux, is the thing to eliminate. The first thing you must do is stop consuming fried, spicy, oily, high salt food, caffeine and caffeine-related products. Change over to being a vegetarian if you are a meat eater.

Fresh vegetables and yogurts are the best thing to binge on if you have acid reflux. Chilled milk and milk products also help in dealing with acidity greatly. If you are fond of coffee, you can switch to either cold coffee or herbal tea instead. This has the property to help fight acid reflux.

Ginger helps fight acidity. You can eat ginger candy, or suck on a piece of fresh ginger if you can handle the spicy taste. Apples are very effective in controlling acidity, so you must try to have at least two every day. The other fruit that helps soothe an irritated stomach and throat is figs. You must studiously avoid oranges as they are high in acidic content. Dilute a teaspoon of natural apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and sip this for relief from acidity. If you are a smoker, this is the time to quit. Cigarette smoke is one of the main causes of heartburn and acidity. A positive way to handle the desire to smoke it to drink an entire glass of water every time you feel the urge. This way, you will also be drinking water, which is a remedial measure for acidity.
