Conjunctivitis home remedies

Since pink eye or conjunctivitis is a highly contagious disease, you must try and treat it as soon as possible. Try these few methods, and if all else fails, visit your physician.

Anyone suffering from pink eye will feel an urge to constantly touch the eye that has been infected.

Please refrain from such an activity. If you do touch your eye, wash your hand with warm soap water. This is to avoid the infection from spreading to the next eye.

Wash your clothes separately from the rest of the family. This is to stop this disease from spreading out.
All people suffering from pink eye will know that the eye constantly waters, and there is a large amount of matter that collects in the corners of the eye. Clear this regularly with a sterile cotton swab and warm water.
To sooth the irritation caused in the eye, place moist chamomile tea bags on the eyes for about 10 minutes each. This will greatly cool out your eyes and stop the itchy feeling.

You could also make the chamomile tea and use an eye cup to hold the warm tea in each eye. Most medical shops do sell eye cups.
