Conjunctivitis natural treatment Pink eye or conjunctivitis is an extremely contagious eye-disorder that mostly affects children. In some cases, it affects adults too. There aren't too many known cures for conjunctivitis.
The condition usually cures itself. However, we can guide you in ways of hygiene and some therapies that will stop the condition from spreading and cause you less discomfort.
First — do not constantly keep touching the affected eye.
Even though the urge to itch it might be strong, refrain from doing so. If you do happen to touch the eye, wash your hands with warm soapy water. This will reduce the chances of you infecting your other eye too. To reduce the risk of this condition spreading to the rest of your family and near ones, you need to ensure that your clothes are washed separately from the rest.
All patients of pink eye know that the eye constantly waters, and a large amount of substance tends to gather in the eye and blur vision, besides causing great irritation. This stuff should regularly be cleared — but please take care that the cotton used for this purpose is sterile and dipped in warm water.
The irritation caused by the infection can be reduced greatly by keeping chamomile tea bags (pre-moistened) on the eyes for 10 minutes every few hours. The soothing, cooling affect of this action will put you at ease and make the whole experience much more bearable.
