Bladder infection home remedies Bladder infections cause you to constantly feel the urge to urinate. But when you finally do try to do this, you find that not only are you unable to do so, but that it burns when trying to pass urine. Bladder infections are fairly common among women and are caused by bacteria.
This is the E.coli bacteria. The bacteria first attack your vagina and then travel to your urethra.
If you experience nausea along with your infection or notice blood in your urine, then it is advisable to consult your doctor at once.
The easiest way to tackle a bladder infection is by drinking lots of fluids. Water is the best of course but you can also drink fruit juices. Cranberry juice is supposed to be especially effective. Avoid adding sugar to these juices and where possible dilute them to ensure additional intake of fluids. However avoid drinking too much coffee.
Avoid eating spicy food. A hot bath can help you relive the pain. Avoid using strong soaps or highly scented bath salts or other cosmetics since this will only aggravate your infection. You can also use a cold compress on your lower stomach. Change the water as often as necessary. You should also ensure that you change your underwear frequently. Wearing comfortable clothes made of natural fibers will help you keep cool.
