Dry, chapped lips home remedies

For a condition such as the one you describe, it is highly likely that your skin is suffering from dehydration. The solution for this is to instantly start working towards removing the dryness. One of the best solutions for this problem is to apply aloe vera gel to your lips.

If you can get an aloe plant and squeeze out fresh gel from its leaves, this will work faster and better than using any readymade gel. Rubbing freshly sliced cucumbers on and around the lips and mouth will also work very effectively since cucumber is highly water retentive and it will add as well as retain moisture. Keep doing this as often as you can, and for at least a week before you see positive results.

Always remember to use a sun screen for your lips before you head out of the house. In order to avoid pain and burning sensations, stay off all spicy and citrusy foods. It is important to avoid licking your lips. Although this may provide temporary relief, it can further dehydrate them and make the condition much worse. Apply milk cream to your lips if they feel excessively dry at any point in time. This is a very rich and greasy product that will help considerably. Apply mustard oil in your navel and rub it in thoroughly. This is supposed to help in keeping your lips supple and well moisturized.
