In case the person has very high body temperature, the first thing to do is to drink large quantities of water to replace lost body fluids. If the person has persistent fever, it is important to note that it is likely a symptom of something else. A fever is the body's way of fighting against infections and bringing the body back to normal.


Fresh juice of fruits and vegetables will help to bring the fever down while helping your body to heal as well. Add a pinch of rock salt to your juices to help retain water in your body. You must avoid spicy and fried food, choosing easily digestible food like plain steamed rice and vegetable or chicken broth instead.

Make a paste of holy basil leaves and honey and have a teaspoon of this twice a day to help fight the fever. A paste of sandalwood and rose water smeared and left on your forehead will bring body temperature down very quickly, since sandalwood has the property of absorbing heat from the surface of the body. Chopped onions applied to the soles of your feet will also act quickly in bringing down high body temperature. Egg whites can be used for the same effect in the same way.
