Alternative cure for tinea versicolor Under the circumstances it would be best to hold on until the pigmentation returns because if you have a fresh fungal attack you may not be able to see it through the tattoos. Other than that, the skin is probably still sensitive in those areas and the ink used in tattoos can be toxic. You don't want to use something potentially toxic on skin that is yet to heal.
Non sterile tattoo needles can cause you to develop AIDS or Hepatitis.Several kinds of inks are mixed to get the desired colour and there is no saying what the composition of those inks might be. You could develop an allergic reaction and they could have and adverse effect if you need to have an MRI in the future for any reason.
Tattoo inks have also been seen to migrate to various parts of the body, sometimes even being found in the lungs. This is just not a good idea. Especially because your skin has already had some trauma.
There are other ways to cover up de-pigmented areas. You can use a concealer stick that is the exact same shade as your skin or try henna tattoos. They won't last long, but can be used when you want to go out to a party or on the beach, where you want to show some skin.
