Home remedy for toothaches If your toothache is caused by a particle of food stuck between your teeth try rinsing your mouth out thoroughly or flossing gently. Sometimes a really small particle of food stuck in your teeth can cause havoc and you may not even know it is there. If this is not the problem, the most effective remedies for a toothache are listed below
- Rinse your mouth out with salt water every hour or so.
This will take care of the pain - Dip your forefinger and thumb in some ice and massage the aching area with both fingers. This will numb the area and give relief
- Dip some cotton wool in clove oil and hold it next to your aching tooth. Alternatively chew on some cloves
- Don't bite anything with the aching tooth
- Rinse with some Vanilla and Almond extract.
Both contain alcohol and alcohol will soothe the pain. If you drink, try an shot of scotch whiskey right before you sleep. - Try applying a drop of Teatree oil to the affected area. Or soak a cotton ball in tea tree oil and pack it against your tooth.
If the toothache is too severe take an OTC drug such as Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen and consult a dentist.
