Health advice on ulcer in the mouth

One of the first things to check is if your toothpaste contains a chemical called Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Just using a toothpaste that does not contain this chemical may solve the problem for some people.

Some ulcers are caused by nutrient deficiencies.

Supplement with Vitamin C, Vitamin B12 and Iron and in a matter of days, this kind of ulcer should disappear. If you are on some sort of drug regime, it is possible that a drug sensitivity is causing your ulcer. Try asking your doctor if any of the drugs you are on has mouth ulcers as a side effect and if yes, can that drug be replaced.

Mouth ulcers are caused by bowel and skin diseases, food allergies, stress and even infections like herpes simplex. It is not always possible to identify a cause, but there are remedies available that work for all kinds of mouth ulcers which I am listing below:

  1. Gargle alternately with ice cold water and moderately hot water
  2. gargle with fresh coconut milk
  3. Chew on basil leaves
  4. Mix glycerine with a pinch of turmeric and apply to the affected area.
  5. Eat a lot of yogurt or probiotics containing acidophilus.

Also try to lower stress levels in your life by getting fresh air and doing breathing exercises. Yoga and meditation also help with stress.
