Alternative treatment for high blood pressure

Blood sugar levels increase in diabetes when either the body is not producing any insulin or if there is insufficient insulin or it is not being used efficiently by the body. This affects the process of breaking down of glucose into energy for the body and over a period of time, the high blood sugar has a debilitating effect on the eyes, kidneys and nerves. While diabetes can be brought under control with medication, it is best controlled with home remedies, following a strict diet as well as an exercise regime.

Avoid heavy, fried, starchy and sweet foods, as well as refined flour, caffeine and alcohol. Also restrict red meat and salt in your diet since that will help to reduce weight and bring the diabetes under control.

Apart from these preventive measures, you should regularly consumes jamun and margosa since they help to maintain the pancreas in good order and thus ensure production of insulin.

Margosa and Bitter gourd have plant insulin and thus regular consumption help in reducing the blood sugar levels. Chewing on a clove of garlic helps to reduce the blood sugar level due to the allicin in it. Onion, with its hypoglycaemic properties also helps to reduce the blood sugar as do fenugreek seeds. Chewing on 8 to 10 curry leaves every morning on an empty stomach helps to bring the blood sugar levels back to normal. Alternately you could soak mango leaves overnight in water and drink the solution in the morning, or powder the leaves and mix with a glass of water to drink every morning on an empty stomach. Above all it is important to monitor your blood sugar regularly and maintain a healthy, relatively stress-free lifestyle.
