A stye in the eye can be an irritating and sometimes painful disorder. If your stye isn't in an advanced state of growth, you can control both the irritation and the pain with some simple home remedies.
Coriander seeds are present in most kitchens.
Take some of these seeds and boil it in water. The water from this preparation should be used to wash the eye. Another mixture that can be made at home is alum water. Crush 3 to 4 granules of alum water and use this solution to wash your eyes. To reduce irritation and cool your eyes, wet some teabags and place them over the affected eye.
Turmeric is an all-rounder in the kitchen as well as in the home remedies department. Take 1 tea spoon of this yellow powder and boil it in 2 to 3 cups of water. Boil till the volume of the solution is halved. Let this solution cool down and sift it through a fabric to remove any granules of turmeric. Use the resulting solution as eye drops about 3 times every day. If your stye continues to ache and grow in size, your home remedies obviously are not working. Please consider visiting your general practitioner at the earliest.
