Sprain alternative treatment

You can get a sprain when you suddenly wrench your ankle. This can be painful. Worse, you will be unable to put your weight on the injured foot which means that your mobility will be affected.

You get a sprain when your ligament undergoes excessive stretching. A sprain will result in the affected part turning blue. You will also notice a swelling and experience pain.

Of course, the first thing you should do is to ensure that you keep off the affected foot. Put up your feet. You can use an ice pack on the affected area. This will help the swelling go down and give you relief from the pain.   You will notice that your ankle will feel better if you wrap it up in an elastic bandage. It is believed that wrapping it up in a bandage helps a sprain heal faster.

Eating pineapple will help you heal faster. Pineapples contain an enzyme which helps healing. You should chop an onion into small pieces. Tie this in a thin cloth and place over the sprain. This will help bring down the swelling. You can also mix some lavender oil in water and soak your sprained ankle in this.

Remove two or three leaves from a cabbage. Dip these briefly in warm water. Then wrap them tightly around the sprained area and leave.
