Bleeding tooth remedies You have just had a grueling session with your dentist and spent what seemed like hours with your mouth wide open and now you are home, with one tooth less in your mouth. But the extracted tooth continues bleeding long after it has been removed. What can you do?
The most effective remedy is using an ice pack. This will provide relief from the pain and also prevent any swelling. Remember to change the ice in the pack and continually hold the ice pack to the side of your face from where the tooth was extracted. After twenty four hours of using a cold pack on the affected area, you can switch to warm water. Add a pinch of salt to the warm water and use this to gargle gently. This will help prevent any chances of infection. You can also us a tea bag of any kind to help stem the flow of the blood. Hold the tea bag under the tap and then place this on the tooth that was extracted. Bite down on the tea bag. Remember not to eat any hot food. This will only cause you pain and discomfort. Instead eat soft food that is easy to chew.
