Increasing libido home cures A low sex drive or libido can have a number of causes — these include some trauma or sexual abuse suffered during childhood or the adolescent years. Overcoming such a problem would require counseling or psychiatric help.
If the problem has developed only recently however, then there are likely to be other causes.
Since you are 40 years old, it is possible that this is one of the signs of menopause. Women usually begin menopause around the age of 45 or 50, but in some cases, it can begin earlier. This is a natural part of life and is not a disease, so there is no real treatment for it, except for some hormone therapies and antidepressants in cases where the symptoms of menopause are unusually severe. If you think you may need treatment, you should discuss it with your doctor.
A dip in libido may also be due to stress or depression, or poor body image. Try to get enough rest and, in general, relax and take it easy. For mild depression, some simple measures like daily exercise and a diet that includes all the necessary food groups, vitamins, and minerals can help a great deal. You should also accept that at your age, your body is not what it used to be, but this is no reason for it to be less attractive or able to experience pleasure.
