Treatment for Chicken Pox Chicken pox, or Varicella caused by the Herpes Zoster virus is an extremely contagious disease that is characterised by the rash and blisters all over the skin which eventually burst and/or develop a scab and fall off. The disease starts with a rash a couple of days after infection, and is accompanied by body ache, weakness, fever and blisters. Highly contagious the disease can be transferred by contact with broken blisters or even inhaling airborne droplets.
It is thus very important to quarantine the patient completely, isolating the vessels used by him, as well as the towels. The patient should bathe daily, taking care not to break the blisters and also keep finger nails clipped short to avoid scratching the blisters.
An ancient remedy for soothing the itching and treating the chickenpox blisters is adding fresh margosa leaves to the bath water. The antiseptic properties of margosa help to treat the chickenpox. You can also try adding half a cup of brown vinegar to your bathwater to relieve the skin irritation. Oatmeal is equally beneficial for chickenpox. A bath can be prepared by tying 2 cups of cooked oatmeal in a cotton cloth and allowing this bag to float in the bath water. Honey either applied externally on the scabs or consumed is very beneficial for the treatment of the scabs. Carrot and coriander soup and herbal teas such as chamomile, basil, marigold and lemon balm are also said to be effective in treating chickenpox.

Chicken pox home treatment If you have chickenpox you must be suffering from the discomfort of the little red boils that you can see all over your stomach, face and even hair. You may also have some fever accompanying the appearance of these spots. If your fever is very high, then you should consult your doctor at the earliest.
With the little boils all over you are no doubt experiencing a lot of discomfort. You will find that you want to scratch yourself. You can dip a towel in some cool water and give yourself a little rub down. Do it gently, patting yourself with the wet towel, before you dry yourself. You can also mix some baking soda in water and use this water to soothe your boils. Using margosa leaves in your bath water will help you too. Dressing lightly in cotton cool clothes will help you feel better too.
Brown vinegar, when added to the bath water, can give you relief from the symptoms of chickenpox. Applying Vitamin E oil or even garlic oil to the areas where you have the boils can help you too. Garlic can also be eaten in order to cure the Chicken pox quickly. You should eat light food, and drink lots of water and juices
