Home Remedy for Itchy Skin
Itchy skin is a direct result of extreme dryness. Dryness is a result of your body lacking sufficient moisture to keep skin healthy. The first thing to do is spend some time out of doors to enable your skin to breathe better and improve its general health.
Staying indoors among air conditioners and heaters will only add to dryness. You must also exfoliate your skin at least once a week. This will slough off dead skin from the surface and remove a whole layer of dry flakes as well. You can make your own scrub by using a pasty mix of sugar crystals and olive oil. Scrub this in circular motions all over your body till the sugar melts and then bathe with warm water. Your skin will develop a healthy glow in no time at all. Immediately after a bath, you must also apply a moisturizer to seal the moisture into your damp warm skin. Make this a daily habit.
To deal with the problem of itching, you can apply a mashed overripe banana mixed with milk cream to particularly dry areas. You can also rub some milk cream into your dry skin and leave it on for a while. This will also help tremendously. You can add a few drops of any scented bath oil to a warm bath and soak in it for about 15 minutes. Do this at least once a week to help remove the itchiness.
