Abscessed tooth home cures

A tooth abscess is quite a serious condition, and it is best to visit a dentist in order to treat it properly. The condition is basically a kind of advanced tooth infection — when a cavity or tooth infection is allowed to worsen, it sometimes reaches a point where surrounding tissue gets rather badly infected and pus begins to collect in a pocket in this tissue. If the infection is still left untreated, it could continue to worsen and spread, making treatment even more difficult.

After a point, the infection could even reach the bone and other organs like the heart and the brain. In some cases, cellulitis could set in, which can sometimes be fatal. Sepsis is another possible complication, and this too could be fatal.

As you can see, a tooth infection can be quite a serious thing, especially when an abscess forms. You should make an appointment with your dentist as soon as possible, and probably immediately if you develop other symptoms such as a fever or diarrhea. In the meanwhile, the common, traditional remedies for toothaches will work to ease the pain — you can apply clove oil to the area around the affected tooth or place a clove on the tooth. Rinsing your mouth with warm salt water will also help.
