Remedies to lighten skin

Dark skin is not a disease or medical condition that needs to be remedied or treated, which is probably why all the remedies you tried were useless. Skin color is something that is genetically determined, and there is not much that you can do about it. The color of your skin is determined by the amount of melanin pigment produced by your skin, which in turn is determined by your genes.

Using home remedies and cosmetics is not going to change your genes, and will therefore have no effect or only a superficial and temporary effect. If you have naturally dark skin, you need to accept it and not let common and irrational social prejudices bother you. As long as your skin is clear, smooth, and healthy, there is no reason why you should worry about it.

Normal skin care is all that is needed.

If your dark skin is due to a tan, then your complexion will of course gradually return to its normal color. There is still however no need for any remedies or treatment. Exposure to sunlight naturally causes the skin to increase production of melanin, and once exposure to sunlight is decreased, melanin production will also come down.
