Stomach pain causes and remedies Abdominal pain can have many causes, and although commonly known as a stomach ache, only in some cases is the actual source of the pain in the stomach itself. Indigestion, gas, appendicitis, gastroenteritis, gall bladder stones or infections, problems with the cardiovascular system, inflammation of the abdominal wall itself, injuries, urinary tract infections, can all cause pain in the abdominal area. To know how to respond to abdominal pain, you first need to know what is causing it.
Most of the time, abdominal is pain is due to something that you ate — gas, indigestion, or diarrhea can cause pain. Except for severe cases that are actually food poisoning, these are minor problems that get resolved on their own, and all you need to do is take some home remedies for relief from the pain. Boil a teaspoon of cumin seed in a glass of water and drink this mixture, as well as a glass of lemon juice with soda or water, once or twice a day. In general, you should drink lots of water to keep your system hydrated, particularly if you have diarrhea. Also avoid taking any medication to stop the diarrhea — just allow your body to get rid of whatever is bothering it.
