Lime disease causes and symptoms

Lyme disease is an infectious disorder that is caused by bacteria of the genus Borrelia. The disease usually spreads through the bite of an infected tick, but there are other carriers for the disease too.

The symptoms for this disease are many.

Rashes on the skin, a flu in the initial stages and then, towards the later stages, it affects the muscles, the neurons and even the heart. Most of these symptoms can be controlled by antibiotics that should ideally be prescribed by a general practitioner early on.

Once the disease reaches advanced stages, it is difficult to control. So please don't risk it and rush to your doctor NOW!
Here are some more facts on this disease -

  • The acute infection is a bulls-eye shaped rash with fever, body ache and lethargy. The rash can appear at any stage after the bite - from a day to even a month after. Please remember that the skin isn't suffering an allergy. It has been infected by bacterium.
  • The chronic stages produce symptoms like meningoencephalitis, cardiac inflammation, and arthritis. These symptoms too can be greatly delayed, sometimes appearing as much as year later.
  • We hope this information is enough for you to self-diagnose this disease correctly.
