Home Cure for Red Eyes
One of the commonest causes of redness in the eye is lack of sleep. The best way to ensure that your eyes remain hydrated is to sleep for a good seven to eight hours. An uninterrupted blissful sleep holds the key to many of life's maladies and one of them is for ensuring that eyes stay bright and healthy.
Lack of sleep or interrupted sleep patterns tend to cause the eyes to dry out and remain bloodshot during the day. Try washing your eyelids at night before you retire for the bed. Washing your eyes as well your eyelids with warm night will ensure that the eyelids are cleansed thoroughly of the day's dirt and grime that has accumulated over the hours.
Take a clean cloth preferably a small hand towel and soak it in cold water.
Place this wet cool cloth over your eyes while keeping them closed. The coolness of the water and fabric soothes tired eyes and stimulates the eyes to hydrate. Moreover if it's an allergic reaction then the cool compress is likely to cause the allergy to vanish. Sometimes allergens in the atmosphere can cause the eyes to go red without really causing a problem or bringing in other symptoms. At such times keep using the cool towel method till you notice the eyes returning to normal.
