Home remedies for treating an eye infectio

You have not mentioned the exact cause of your eye infection and I would recommend that you first speak to a doctor about this because if untreated, you are liable to lose sight in the infected eye. The infection could be caused by a number of things, the most common of which are, foreign objects lodged in the eye, viral infections, and bacterial infections. The most common eye infections include styes, orbital cellulitis, and conjunctivitis. Symptoms for an eye infection include redness in your eye, discharge, pain, blurred eyesight, and watery eyes. You could also develop photophobia and swelling in the eye.

If you are suffering from a stye, you can use a warm cloth as a hot compress to relieve the pain. You can also place a tea bag that has been soaked in warm water on your eye. As a general eye infection remedy, you can use aloe vera juice as an eye wash. Applying the juicy side of an aloe vera leaf can also be quite beneficial. Use elderberry blossom tea or a decoction of dried eyebright herb as an eye wash. This will help soothe and calm the eyes. Honey can also be used to treat your eyes. You can either apply honey directly to your eyes or dissolve 2-3 tablespoons of honey in two cups of boiling water. Once this has cooled, you can use it as an eye wash.
