Also try Spirulina, which is another food supplement rich in various nutrients and belongs to the blue-green algae family. You could try blending spirulina supplements found in most health food stores in a milk shake or juice.

Hyperthyroidism is not as common as hypothyroidism but ingestion of Kelp seems to work with this disorder as well. Along with Kelp you could try increased intake of green vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts, spinach and mustard greens. All of these have the capacity to regulate and lower the activity of the overactive thyroid gland. Make sure that any activities that overstimulate the already overactive thyroid are avoided. These include smoking, and drinking alcohol, aerated beverages, coffee or black tea.
