My friend has an allergy to a couple of different foods. She does eat them in small doses, forces the body to build up to them. It is similar to getting allergy shots (for pollen, molds, grasses, etc).

Doctors are actually putting what you are allergic to right in your body in small doses, then they increase them as the body tolerates them.

Be careful with this technique because the following can cause death.

  • Nausea
  • Cramping stomach pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Itchy skin
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest pain
  • Swelling of the airways to the lungs

Anaphylaxis is a very serious and potentially fatal allergic reaction that involves a sudden drop in blood pressure, loss of consciousness and body system failure.

Always carry benadryl as an antidote.
