Advice to avoid fleas

Fleas can be a real nuisance and cause you undue discomfort and pain. Fleas not only suck blood, they also feed their larvae on the blood that they get out of the host. Once you get fleas in the house, it is usually difficult to get them out, and it is a sensible idea to try and avoid bring in fleas.

However if you have any pets you will find it a little difficult to prevent them getting into the house.

Eucalyptus leaves have been proved to turn the fleas off. The smell of these leaves truly does turn the fleas off and if you ensure that your house is surrounded by these leaves, the fleas will leave.

Perhaps you can use some eucalyptus oil on your body when you are going out. Another preventive is using lemon scented water. What you need to do for this is to chop a lemon and boil the slices in a cup full of water. Leave them out overnight. In the morning you can rub the slices of lemon on the exposed parts of your body. This will keep the fleas off your body. You can also use citronella similarly and keep the fleas away.
