Athletes feet treatment Athlete's foot is a fungal infection in the foot caused by the constant presence of moisture. The most important remedial measure for people suffering from this problem is to keep feet dry, especially in the areas between the toes that often get neglected. In order to begin treating this problem, make a soak of a cup of baking soda in a bucket of water and keep your feet submerged in this for at least an hour.
Rinse and dry your feet thoroughly after you do this. You should actually use a hair dryer to dry out your feet completely, so that not even a trace of moisture is left. After you have done this, apply tea tree oil to your feet, cover them with cotton socks and leave this on overnight.
Tea tree oil is highly effective in helping to kill bacteria of any kind. Following this procedure for a week will ensure that you are rid of the problem. Make it a weekly routine to disinfect your feet with hot water and salt soaks. Exfoliate the skin on your feet regularly. When you are suffering from Athletes Foot, you must cut back on consumption of yeast and fermented foods. As a last resort before switching to medication, try to rub raw garlic on your feet.
