Pain in the feet and heels is quite common in this day and age on account of the changes in life style in terms of eating patterns, nature of jobs, and even fashion. People are increasingly affected by pain in their heels which may disrupt their entire daily routine and schedule.

  • Wearing high heeled shoes are one of the major and primary causes of pain in the heels.
  • Lack of exercise may also caused pain in the feet and heels.
  • Inadequate or unbalanced diets may also lead to pain in the heels.

There are many easy home remedies to cure pain in the heels, some of which are:

  • First and foremost, you must try to regulate your weight. If you are overweight or obese, you must not consume fatty and oily foods. Rather, you may resort to negative or zero calorie diet. As such, you must consume foods like cauliflower, asparagus, turnip garlic, onions, broccoli, pineapples, raspberries, strawberries, cranberries, apples, tangerines, papayas, peaches, cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew, beet, celery, chili peppers, chicory, spinach, garden cress, turnip and mango.
  • You must consume a diet rich in calcium. You must consume milk and other dairy products in sufficient amounts so as to strengthen your muscular system, thereby curing pain in the heels.
  • You are also recommended to eat a diet that is rich in Vitamin D as it is instrumental in the absorption of calcium. Sunlight is the major source of Vitamin D. When you are exposed to the sun, a substance called ergosterol in the body is converted to Vitamin D. Another good source of Vitamin D is cod liver oil.
  • You must not wear high heeled shoes as these shoes exert immense pressure on your heels thereby causing pain in your heels. High heeled shoes may also distort your muscular structure.
  • You may go in for acupuncture therapy to relive pain in the heels. Acupuncture therapy involves the insertion of needles in the respective body points to facilitate healing process.
  • You must also follow a regular exercise regimen.
