tackle a head cold with out visiting a doctor. Some of these basic home remedies include doing a simple gargle.
Gargling helps a person by moistening a sore throat. This helps in giving the patient some temporary relief. To make this gargle simply take a teaspoonful of regular salt and add it to a glass containing warm water.
Ensure that the water is not too hot or it can could cause scalding in the mouth. Once the mixture is ready proceed to use this gargle at least 3 to 4 times in a day. One can even try a variation gargle. Try putting some astringent in the gargle; this can be done by gargling with tea. Teas have certain ingredients like tannin. This helps in tightening the membranes in a person’s throat. One can even make a thick gargle that is put together by mixing some honey along with water. This is also considered very beneficial for
treating a cold head. Similarly try steeping some raspberry leaves in about 2 cups of hot water for a few minutes. You can even try steeping some lemon leaves along with some honey. These mixtures need to cool before used as a gargle or even before drinking.
Another way to help a cold in one’s head to go away is by learning the right technique of blowing one’s nose. Remember when suffering from a cold it is vital that one blows their nose and clears their nasal passages as often as possible. One should avoid in taking the mucus that is present in the nasal passage. Also another vital reminder is to never blow one’s nose too hard. This pressure can cause the person to develop a severe earache. The correct and safe way for one to blow their nose is by placing a finger on one nostril and covering while blowing very gently through the other nostril. It is important to also keep one’s hands clean by washing regularly as this can could otherwise cause germs to spread. Getting plenty of rest is another important consideration when
suffering from a head cold. This way, one is able to build their immunity system without exerting too much. Drinking plenty of fluids and juices is also essential in preventing dehydration. One can also drink hot soups and fresh juices.
