Dry Skin Care at Home
by Kevin Pederson
Dry skin can be quite an irritating occurrence and can cause significant amount of discomfort to the affected individual. While in some cases it can be the result of genetics where the condition has been passed down from one generation to another within the same blood line, it could also be caused by a deficiency of vitamin A, vitamin B and Vitamin E in the body. Climatic changes and environmental conditions could also significantly impact the appearance and texture of a person’s skin.
Dry skin could also be a symptom of a serious underlying medical condition or a lack of sebum oil being provided to the upper layers of the skin, resulting in it getting dehydrated very easily. Washing your hands and face with the help of chemical based soaps or hot water on a regular basis could also condition your skin to become very dry. It is important to be aware of the various factors that cause dry skin as prevention is always the best form of treatment.
Following a balanced and healthy diet with the right amount of vitamin and mineral content will go a long way into bringing back the shine and luster to your skin. A high intake of water helps keep the skin clear and will help r

naturally.
There are a number of home remedies that you could try using to help soften and moisturize your skin with a lot of ingredients that you are likely to find readily available in your home or kitchen. For example, you could try making a paste using one teaspoon of an egg yolk and another teaspoon of honey and apply it over the affected areas. Wash the paste off your skin after about 15 minutes with the help of some cold water. You could also try creating a paste by mixing half a teaspoon of honey and a couple of teaspoons of rose water and apply it over the affected areas before washing it off. This mixture will not only help moisturize the skin, but clean it and tone it as well. Apple is considered to be extremely beneficial when dealing with dry skin and all you need to do is grate about 3 apples and apply it over the skin. Leave it on for about 20 minutes and wash the skin with the help of cold water. Applying a natural moisturizer that does not contain any alcohol to your skin every night before going to sleep will go a long way in retaining the natural glow of your skin.
