It gets very discomforting and annoying when you keep feeling the urge to urinate frequently. Diabetes and pregnancy are also common causes for frequent urination. Intake of excessive alcohol or caffeine can also result in this problem. There’s a condition called urinary tract infection, characterized by pain and burning while urinating, which is another cause.
To improve the condition, having a balanced diet is essential. The patient needs to avoid consuming excessive amounts of sugar, coffee, tea and alcoholic beverages, as all of these are diuretic in nature. Drinking cranberry or cherry juice in moderation or consuming blueberries can be very helpful in treating this problem. Consuming plain yogurt also helps in this condition. Kegel exercises are also helpful. In Kegel exercises you contract your pelvic floor muscles for five seconds and then release the muscles for five seconds.
