Colon Cancer Natural Treatment
by Kevin Pederson
What is colon cancer?
Today there are a number of colon cancer remedies. Colon cancer is among the most common of all known cancers and is also referred to as colorectal cancer.
This kind of cancer afflicts the bowels, with the growth of malignant cells in the rectum or colon. While the exact causes are uncertain in most cases the cancer develops within polyps, which are lumps that are found inside the bowel walls. Dietary factors, family history and advancing age can also contribute to the development of colon cancer.
What are the treatment options for colon cancer?
Conventional colon cancer treatment and colon cancer remedies depend on how advanced the cancer is, but generally involves the surgical removal of the tumour and radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
However there are a number of natural colon cancer remedies that can help maintain and enhance colon health. Chemical treatments most often have side effects that far outweigh their benefits and seeking a natural alternative is a much healthier approach. For some conditions however or in the advanced stages natural remedies may not be enough and it is best that they are used in conjunction with conventional medicines as an aide to the healing process. There are a number of natural remedies that are excellent for colon health. These remedies help prevent the onset of colon cancer and also help with the healing process.
Garlic has come to be regarded as being particularly beneficial to the treatment of colon cancer, as it has been found to significantly lower the risk of developing pre-cancerous polyps. Some studies clearly hint that there is a much lower incidence of colon cancer among individuals who have a healthy amount of garlic or garlic supplement in their diet. It is also believed that green tea can significantly reduce the risk of developing colon cancer. Turmeric has been found to be particularly beneficial as a colon cancer remedy as it reduces the risk of polyps adhering to the colon walls. Grape seed extract has also been found to actually slow the progress of cancerous cells in the colon. Adding ginger to your diet can also help prevent the development of colon cancer and is better in it's natural form when used while cooking, rather than in a capsule or supplement form. Consuming ginger is also very effective and like garlic it can help slow the growth of cancerous cells when present and also prevent the development of colon cancer.
Vitamin D and calcium have also been found to have a direct bearing on the colon health and it is necessary that in addition to your colon cancer remedies you receive the required dosage either through your diet or supplements.
