Anxiety Disorder Remedies
An anxiety disorder is any condition in which negative but normal human emotions such as anger, apprehension, worry, fear, and so on are experienced chronically and without any identifiable and immediate reason. Several factors can combine to cause an anxiety disorder, and in many cases it is possible to reduce the intensity of the problem, if not solve it entirely, by addressing these factors - for example, work pressure or marital problems. However, additional intervention is often necessary, as the external factors are as important as the internal ones such as a person's attitude, past experiences, and state of health.
There are several anxiety disorder remedies, including counseling, diet, acupressure, and natural remedies such as herbs and teas, and usually a combination of several methods is the most effective treatment:
Counseling and therapy
: Counseling and therapy are very effective anxiety disorder remedies, because very often it is a person's attitude and thought processes that play the biggest role in causing anxiety and panic attacks. A good counselor or therapist can help you identify these things and then help develop more positive, relaxed attitudes and thought processes.
Drug treatment
: A variety of drugs is available for treating anxiety disorders, but there is always the risk of side effects and addiction.
It is therefore advisable to use these methods only as a last resort, and only under the guidance of your counselor or therapist.
Herbal treatment
: Kava is a herb that is commonly used as an anxiety disorder natural remedy, but it should also be used under professional guidance, as it too has some side effects. Other herbal anxiety disorder remedies that you can ask your doctor or therapist about are catnip, valerian, ginseng, chamomile, and St John's Wort.
Diet
: You should have a healthy and balanced diet, but in addition, certain foods directly make you feel more relaxed and positive. You should include more complex carbohydrates in your diet, and also ensure that you are getting all the necessary vitamins and minerals.
Exercise
: Regular exercise keeps your body healthy and fit, and functioning well, and when you feel good physically, you feel good mentally as well. In addition, exercise directly contributes to a sense of well-being by prompting the body to produce feel-good chemicals.
Alternative medicine
: Many streams of alternative medicine provide excellent anxiety disorder natural remedies. Meditation of course is one of the best techniques to fight anxiety, but in addition, you may want to try acupuncture, acupressure, massage therapy, or aromatherapy.
