- Another type of boil, known as cystic acne, occurs on the face. It occurs as result of clogging and infection of the skin pores.
- Hidradenitis suppurativa type of boils occurs in the groin and armpit areas. This occurs due to swelling of sweat glands.
- The fourth type of boils is referred to as a pilonidal cyst. These types of boils occur in between the buttocks and their occurrence takes place due to continuous sittings. For being in and around the rectum area, pilonidal cysts can cause a lot of discomfort and irritation while sitting or walking.
